| Programs Please click on Specific Programs for your area of interest: The program actively involves parents and children in rehabilitation exercise, guided by a physical therapist and volunteers, to improve their physical and sensory capabilities in the areas of sight, sound and touch. Research has shown that the earlier children with disabilities are exposed to this type of therapy, the better chance they have of increasing their capabilities, both physically and mentally. We have had great success with this program, particularly with our Hydrotherapy Program. Children never expected to walk are now up on their feet. Yes, miracles can happen. CENCRE is unique, being one of a handful of disability centers in Mexico to have a holistic approach in serving the needs of our children. An important part of our services is to provide our children with academic education as well as promoting and improving their skills to become independent. Our dedicated teachers and therapists, trained in special education, focus on the unique needs of each child. We also have an outreach program at CENCRE that provides personal tutoring for children who attend regular school but require special attention to overcome learning disabilities. Our major area of focus with this program is to assist children who have been affected by Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Dyslexia, Autism, and behavior disorders. Physiotherapy & Hydrotherapy Programs Our Physiotherapy Program is specially designed to benefit children and adults who suffer from a variety of physical disabilities and other medical conditions. The Physiotherapy Program has been the heart of CENCRE for over twenty years. Over this period of time we have continued to improve the services to our patients, which now include ultrasound, laser therapy, electro stimulation, and a fully equipped gymnasium. Part of our treatment program includes working with our medical staff to assess each child's specific needs. Much of our success in improving a child's condition is dependent on the dedication and hard work of our physical therapy staff and volunteer program. With the addition of our Hydrotherapy Program, we have seen a significant increase in the capabilities of our patients in dealing with their physical disabilities. This is particularly true with infants and young children who have been part of our Early Stimulation Program. The Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy Program were not only designed to benefit our children but we also provide outpatient services to the general public as a way of subsidizing the important work we do. Speech Therapy & Psychological Counseling Programs Our Speech Therapy Program plays an essential role in assisting our children with improving their verbal and communication skills. This program is an important part of the services we offer. Our Psychological Counseling Program deals with the trauma of physical and mental disabilities and has a major impact on both our children and their families. At CENCRE we provide comprehensive psychological counseling services for everyone. Horseback Riding Therapy Program The horse plays a very important role in this therapy. The heat of his body, his pace and muscles, along with the exercises suggested by the therapist aim for better mobility and positioning of the child's body. |
